So we are confronted with this empty space, wide open to our expression impressions and illusions
We fill empty boxes, empty draws and our rooms that once were empty. And in that way we create meaning.
But in this need to express ourselves, to fill up empty spaces, we have to use a language to be understood
The fourth wall. The one which doesn’t exist and across it we communicate with the audience.
I wanted to stress the similarity between a stage, a web page and in some
way also someone’s mind:
They are not restricted by its location which give them the power
they have.
• Their aim is to be filled up with sign, symbols and ideas.
• Their emptiness is not passive state, but a neutral one from where
anyone can have a fresh start.
• All of them are approachable through one of its sides and only one.
It is what in theatre is known as ‘the fourth wall’ and what
in a web page would be the interface.
• They are done for and because a user or audience(reader)
